Welcome to the Meetup!

Welcome to Code Self Study!

We’re a community of over 5,000 programmers in the SF Bay Area who meet twice per week to write computer programs.

Quickstart

How to meet people:

  • Create an account on this forum to get access to the chatroom.
  • Introduce yourself to the people around you. The group is friendly and we are curious to find out about what you’re working on.

What to work on:

  • Write some computer programs or work on a tutorial/course/project. If you would like ideas on what to work on, ask @Josh or one of the organizers.
  • We like to help, so don’t hesitate to ask programming questions.
  • The meetups are informal – you can arrive and leave at any time, so don’t worry about being late or having to leave early.

What We Do

Code Self Study is a place for programmers to meet, study, and collaborate in Berkeley. Our meetups are informal and unstructured. You can work on a tutorial, book, course, or project, or find other people to collaborate with. (Ask at a meetup or in the forum.)

If you’re a beginner or are stuck on a programming problem, let us know and we can help!

If you’re new to programming and don’t know where to start, ask @Josh or post your question in the chatroom or here in the forum.

Resources

If you aren’t sure about what to work on, try codewars or ask an organizer for suggestions. (More information will be posted here soon.)

If you’re a beginner, see the learn how to code page. If you’re interested in JavaScript, there is also a JavaScript Study Plan.
